近年漁業署在推廣產銷履歷及擴大海鮮食品的檢驗上不遺餘力,養殖水產品的重金屬殘留問題隨著養殖技術與產銷履歷的推廣,幾乎是微乎其微(至於野外環境的濾食性貝類消費者仍須多加留意),除了上市的海鮮食品鑑驗外,源頭管理上也會在未上市前進行抽樣或至養殖戶突擊檢查,歷年都有公開資料可供查詢,但儘管主管機關與養殖戶在養殖技術與產品品質上如此努力,卻經常不敵網路或其他出版品流傳刊登的各種不實謠言的詆毀,這些動機不明的文章往往沒有任何科學舉證,卻用推銷恐懼讓消費者對於養殖水產品卻步,進而打擊國內養殖戶,撰文者是為了自己的生意
